Remove the blue conector with the two wires and just jump them with a paperclip or wire and turn the key to the on position and count the long and short blinks the engine light gives in the dash. My engine light came on and D was flashing. Honda Pilot 2011 manual said to check transmission fluid. I was getting an oil change anyway and the mechanic topped up my transmission fluid for free. Keymaster. +1 a flashing D light means that the TCM has detected a problem with the transmission or one of it’s sensors. You’ll need to have the code pulled to find out what system is effected. 2 things I mention with any Honda transmission issue. The first is to make sure you only use Honda auto trans fluid.
The flashing D light means an intermitent failure in the transmission. When this happens the light will flash until the engine is shut off. If it was intermitent the flashing doesn't come back the failure was intermitent. However this shouldn't lock the gearshift out of the forward gears. Intermittently I have a check engine light on with a flashing D, when the drive light is flashing, the engine bucks with acceleration. I had the code read at Autozone and it gave me a P0344 which indicates a failure with the cam position sensor.

I have not even made it 20k miles out from the rebuild and recently the d has started blinking. It seems to start when I idle a while like at a drive thru.

The Foxwell scanner (I just bought a 510 Elite with the Honda software) will read all the codes both in the Transmission module, as well as the FCW/LCW module. I’ve been getting a flashing “D” indicator light, and when that’s flashing the FCW/LDW warning light lights up, and I receive FCW and LCW system failure warnings on the info display.
