I've been playing "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" (TotK) on both my PC and Steam Deck. The game runs smoothly on my PC, but on the Steam Deck, I'm experiencing a locked framerate of 20fps. However, when I unlock the framerate, I can achieve a more consistent 30-35fps, which is more playable for me.

Set the gpu to 900mhz (not powertools, just in the normal settings) Cryoutilities 2.0 also helps in my opinion. Made botw playable at mostly 30 fps for me. Either use the yuzu emu deck control scheme provided during emu deck installation or disable steam input entirely and let yuzu handle your controller directly. If that doesn't work then I would just take the emu deck yuzu controller profile and edit it to swap the buttons yourself.31 May 2023 ... I don't quite think the Deck is able to push anything above 30fps really. I strongly recommend against using Yuzu EA releases as they tend to break performance every now and then. Mainline is perfectly fine these days. In TOTK ( on Yuzu ) I get 4k60fps most of the time, low 50s in dense areas and crashes ( had it happen once ). Same thing on my Steam Deck, 30fps sometimes, mid 20s in dense areas. So I'll wait for it to be optimized more so I can get a locked framerate, so I think Yuzu just has to mature a little more. New "TOTK Optimizer" & "Ultracam" by @MaxLastBreath, brings better performance, better visuals, and better compatibility - including 1.2.1 It also allows you to take full control of the camera, moving it completely independently of Link, and using keyframes, can help you produce gorgeous cinematic shots able to rival those of Nintendo themselves. It's just not really that possible to run TOTK that smoothly on the deck yet. You might be able to eek out a few more frames by using some other tweaks, but it won't be a very big improvement. Frames just drop to low and sub-20 in certain areas and when you use certain powers.The last 6/7 updates for ea have been really good for the steam deck, especially compared to where things were over the last few weeks.
