Jan 20, 2013 · Idaho, USA. IMR4895 is a perfect match for the .308 and 150 grain bullets. If somewhere between 44 to 46 grains doesn't shoot straight something is wrong with the rifle. It should give right around 2800 fps from a 22" barrel. Do start lower, though. The Sierra manual tops out at 43.7 grains, Nosler at 44.5, Speer at 45 and Hornady at just over 46. I2Idc, I hunt with a BLR-81 in the 7mm/08. Here are some loads that work for me. These are max in my rifle. Yours could reach pressure BEFORE this so reduce load by 2 grains and work up please if you decide to try them out. Case is R/P in all loadings. I started out with 36.8gr of H4895 and worked my way up half a grain at a time to 40.8gr. Accuracy was dismal the whole way up.
