I got the configuration mod in the news, messed with some settings, and now it works just fine. I unchecked Enable Intro Video and Enable God Rays. Talk to kid Shaun and wait until father says the exit code. At this point the game should bug out. Go into the room you just opened, open the console, click kid Shaun and type: disable. Shaun will no longer be visible and after a few seconds father will talk again and you can continue the quest.
