I have a couple of Affinitys and I know they shoulder very similar to a Benelli M2. I haven't been able to find a 48 AL locally and I don't want to order a Fenice until I shoulder it. (not the sporting) I have shot recreational skeet with both of these shotguns and the Beretta is much softer shooting with 1 1/8 ounce target loads.

As the title says, I've narrowed it down to the Franchi Affinity Elite and the Benelli M2 Field. I like that the Affinity is cerakoted but haven't heard of Benelli's rust protection. By now, most have heard of (or experienced) the "Benelli click" and the "Benelli thumb." Again, rather than fix these potential issues, Benelli again wants you to buy a brand new gun, the Ethos, which is too light and too expensive to have mainstream appeal.
