It doesn't matter if you get the first shot in with the IKELOS, or even Tarrabah, and don't miss the following shots. Immortal, even with super low stability, is basically an instant kill. But they're specifically nerfing IKELOS. Its stats and TTK aren't even close to Immortal. Why.
Ikelos_smg was from like season 10 or 11, it's season 15 now so there are 4-5 seasons worth of world drops that have a higher chance to drop than ikelos_smg. So it's a rare drop now, banshee or dares of eternity are your best bet. It’s a random world drop. Ikelos smg isnt in the prophecy loot pool. Ikelos HC and shotgun are the only two. Smg is a world drop. What you are talking about has nothing to do with sunsetting. It was not the result of sunsetting and the older weapons dropping less frequent still holds true today, hence why OP is having a hard time getting Ikelos smg.

If you weren’t able to get the SMG then simply continue with the Exodus Preparation quest to earn more Engrams. They can drop from World engrams and World Drop Umbral, you can farm it from Prophecy as well.
