Where I work, we cap almost all giftcard sales at $500. It's just our store policy because we get so many obvious scam victims trying to buy tons of giftcards. We also take into consideration how much sense the transaction makes. Without a damn sensible explanation, we would have capped this Instacart guy at $500.
