Hi Moses, Ironically the first thing I did was to replace the fuel filter, assuming that it was restricted to the carburetor. After finding the gas tank vent line clogged I deducted that all the extra pressure from gasoline vapors was traveling backwards to the filter throught the return line, then the vapor lock occurred.

I've got an 88 Wrangler 2.5 EFI 5 spd. There are no visible disconnected hoses or ports at the engine that I can find. The FSM doesn't provide any documentation on fuel line routing, connections, etc, and I cannot find a fuel line schematic anywhere. I just bought the length of fuel lines, hose clamps, and installed. It works, but I'm not sure for how long. 1991 YJ, rebuilt 4.0L in spring 2009 at 234,000 miles, no lift yet, slightly offset wheels, 235/75/15 tires for now, rag top, sold the hard top. Over 35,000 miles on the rebuild and counting. 2006 Jeep Liberty. Nothing special, all stock.Return line at 0psi so that looks clear. Checked temp sensor and ohm readings go down when warm. Map sensor checks OK. Grounds and voltage to the ECM is good. New coil and timing set at 8 BTDC Vacuum lines are all new and confirmed correctly hooked up. When I installed the used kit I used new O2, Coolant sensor, and fuel filter.
The return line helps bleed off the vapor and return it to the tank, and also allows more fuel to keep passing through the fuel lines to keep cooler fuel present. The fuel return does work in reducing vapor lock.
