No start. You need injectors. When the fuel is cool it will make enough pressure to start. When the fuel gets hot it thins out and will not make pressure. Ramping up the pressure at idle will not tell you everything because there is little fuel demand and the pump is turning fast enough (idle rpm) to make pressure.
