Compared to pretty much every other raid on ilvl in this game, Akkan NM seems to be one of the least punishing raids DPS wise. You can have 2 people die not even a quarter into the fight for every gate and still comfortably make it. I think you just need to get more used to the fight though.

The first 2 gates are pretty much the same. Attacks hit harder, but you should be used to them enough by now that you should be dodging most stuff. The only major difference (not the ONLY difference but the only one that actually made a dramatic impact) is the shield mech at x21 in gate 1.
