Got some codes and ended up pulling the turbo and giving the vanes a good deep clean, put it back together and they were nice and smooth. I still had the codes so I swapped the VPS and the solenoid with known good ones.

The dealer replaced the battery and even though the P0091 code remained, no other instances of the truck dying happened.2008 2500 HD Duramax.
