For financial and other practical reasons I got into modeling (red bean days) before ever having spent more than 30 minutes plugged into a 'real' tube amp. Much has changed for me since then, and I now own 2 tube amps (only use one of them, a PT-15IR, on occasion). Both came after my Helix LT.

Fender FR-10/FR-12 noise reduction mod. Came up with a relatively easy mod to kill pretty much all hum on the FR-12! And, given it uses the exact same preamp board, this should work on the FR-10 just as well. Read on for details :D To preface things, this IS a noisy amp.

I know used guitar and bass prices have been going up since COVID began, but it seems like in the last few months more and more people are asking ridiculous prices for things on Reverb, eBay, Marketplace etc. I'm currently hunting for an Explorer shaped bass and have come across many that are priced in the $1200-2000 range for ...

Their 700 watt powerstage is so obnoxious. It has a great feature set but it's in just about the worst of all possible formats. 31 lbs. Under $2,000. It’s officially on my radar. I do think it would have been kinda cool if they had gone with the octal preamp like the older Gibson Les Paul amps. I love that preamp in the /13 JRT. But I suppose that would have been challenging to source tubes for at this level of mass production.

What sold me on the FR-12 were the top-mounted tone controls, which will be great to quickly tweak for any given room, and the fact that there's a high-cut knob which effectively controls the tweeter output. Tonocracy handles the training so you can't train with more epochs (for instance). So far, the only real benefit I'm finding over using NAM is the support for other sample rates. Nov 7, 2023. #7. I thought the FM9 was $100 off before this sale on all 3. Am I wrong?
