I stick to 1911s. And when I want a double stack, it's a Sig classic P-series. Even the P226 feels downright svelte compared to the Prodigy. Edited to add: Springfield continues to list a weight for the 4.25" Prodigy as 32.5 oz. It's not - mine weighed 37 oz on a digital scale. For the YouTube manual reviewers:1)... The Staccato is a 2011 (frame + grip module) while the Wilson is a 1911 (frame/grip frame + grip panels), but both double-stack 9mm handguns. The grip on the Staccato is noticeably larger, fatter than the EDC. The Staccato is super reliable, a flat shooter, and one of my more accurate shooters (along with the EDC).
May 24, 2023 · I own Staccato P, C2 duo, & XC. Also have the WC Xperior and EDC X9 double stack. All fantastic double stack 1911’s. My favorite though is Atlas Gun Works NYX v2. My dream EDC carry weapon. Its flatter shooting than the staccato XC Any freaking day of the week. Staccato XC is second best in personal opinion.
Yea I agree, honestly disappointed when shooting a Staccato P. Felt so sloppy compared to the Atlas Athena and the Springfield TRP. To those not familiar, the "Stacc-Port" is an integral porting job that Vulcan Machine Werks has specifically developed for the Staccato line of 2011's. They will do 2019 to current P's, C2's, and C's. It is not available for previous STI made guns. The C and C2 will have the "Mini-Stacc" which has 3 holes, the "Stacc-Port" on the P has 4 holes.
