Oklahoma. I have optima v2. Very well made. 2 ½ lb trigger. I understand optima and accura barrels both from Bergara, but accura is premium barrel. My optima shoots very well at ½ the price of accura. That was my deciding factor. Availability would also matter since many stores are out if stock. Dec 3, 2021. #3.
To me the difference in barrel length is a non-issue. For a few years, and many deers, i have been carrying a 23" barrel. It works good. However, in my opinion, the opening/closing latch on the Optima V2 is a way more better than the latch on the Wolf. My choice would be the Optima V2, because of the latch mechanism.The Wolf is CVAs entry level muzzleloader below the CVA Optima V2 and Accura V2. Even with 26″ fluted barrel it feels relatively compact.The break open latching on the Wolf is located on the front of the trigger guard. It tends to snag on things causing it to open while hunting.
