Unfortunately the fuel that is causing the issue is in the lines, pump, filter etc and needs to cycled, but because it is jelled it cannot be pumped.It shouldn't be there. It makes no sense that even a minor leak could be on the pressure side of the C-3 - given the pressures involved, there'd be diesel fuel all over the place.

Basically it is not seeing a signal from the camshaft because its not seeing the completed circuit. Sensor or wiring issue most likely.

I have a 2003 Chevy Duramax 6.6 turbo diesel. I've been having starting problem for about 6 months now. Long cranking before start no matter cold, warm start, start shut off still long crank. I can live it on the block heater and still long crank time, sometimes 8 to 10 second cranking time. No codes. No smoke out tail pipe, no diesel in oil.I have a 2011 Denalihd lml. Every once and awhile it cranks but won’t start. I have to prime the heck out of it and it starts. I can’t find any leaks or how air is getting in the fuel system. Mine was loosing prime and would either stall or not start. I did 2 things to fix the problem. I rebuilt the primer on the fuel filter housing and replace the bleed screw on the filter housing. See if you can solve that one.You should have an output at idle of about 40 gm/sec when your EGR is closed. And yes the fuel is high pressure from the pump to the injectors at 31000 psi so only way to actually determine if you have pressure is to pull a few glow plugs easy to access once you take the inner finder out on the passenger side then you would ...That was my 1st thought as well, but he said after it sits awhile it is hard to start. Normally injectors with high returns come into play when, say you shut truck off to refuel. The fuel is warm and flows easier and it wont restart. If you let truck sit a couple hour's and fuel cools down it fires right up.
