Fishing, as funny as it sounds, can give far better prayer points than actual bones themselves so before starting combat, fish some skeleton fish. I have 4.2m prayer pts from skeleton fish alone. Barbarian fishing can also give strength xp, but its super slow. As far as levels go, equipment types follow osrs.
