I use Neovim for a number of reasons, mostly that I did the switch before Vim 8, and at that time only Neovim had the cool stuff like async plugins. I stayed for stuff like remote plugins, the API, built-in LSP, Tree-sitter and Lua. Don't worry if none of this makes sense to you, none of it matters for beginners.
