They were maze like, had secrets, had bosses. They were dungeons, way more than the beasts in BOTW. If BOTW was trying to be like Zelda 1 it failed in the dungeon department. I think they should look at Zelda 1s dungeon design, non linear, optional items and so on.

This worked for Mario, but I think most fans want to see a Zelda film play it straight and give us a legit borderline PG-13 type of animated adventure film.
