Joebklyn, I own two 22 LR conversion kits for 1911s. One is a Colt Ace that has a steel slide and a 2-piece barrel. This is a very expensive kit that is way over rated. I have a dedicated lower for it that works OK for about 40 rounds then you have to field strip it and clean the 2-piece barrel. I also have a Kimber that works much better.The sights on my conversion are different than the sights on my 9mm slide. The gun feels far different with 22 than 9mm. It just sits in a box now, and that's $300 I could have spent on a different gun or ammo. I can't find any conversion kits that aren't discounted for the Ruger 5.7 and the FN 5.7 aswell, you might as well buy a 5.7 ar-pistol or sum shit at this point cause you won't find a kit for it. I think I might design one and 3d print it. It's been a long time coming, all the carbine kits I've seen still are only for FN 5.7.
