I use both TD Ameritrade and Fidelity for stock day-trading (mostly under $10), using Medved Trader software: medvedtrader.com. I am one of the authors as well as a user :). It works with both TD Ameritrade and Fidelity, so I know the various details of both. MT has way better charting and trading capabilities than either.
